Goal Celebration /facepalm

A pretty nice goal, but not such a nice ending...This is just speculation, but I'm assuming that the glass had been broken earlier, and they hadn't replaced the pane yet.

Dumb baseball thief

by vipergtsrz at 07:04 AM Share your /facepalm story

22 year old Matthew Mervine attempted to steal 3 world series rings from an office at the Phillies stadium. Before he attempted to steal the rings, however, he applied for a job at the stadium (therefore giving police all the information they needed to find him) and got kicked out of a Phillies' baseball game for being too roudy. On his way out of the stadium, (I have no idea who was escorting him) he managed to get his hands on the rings and leave the stadium with them. The police later found him at his home with the rings.

The best part is that the rings he stole weren't even the real ones that are handed out to the players when they win the World Series. They were much cheaper versions used to scout for players.

Sounds like someone had a little too much beer that day.

Excessive Celebration Facepalm

by vipergtsrz at 07:48 AM Share your /facepalm story

Raiders cornerback, Chris Johnson, claims that he was flagged for excessive celebration because of his religion. It's ridiculous that he thinks it was because of his religion and also ridiculous that the NFL even has an "excessive celebration" penalty. If a team is down by 13 points AFTER a touchdown and they want to celebrate that, then I think they should be able to do so.

Here is a funny snippet from the article

A rule instituted in 2006 prohibits NFL players from celebrating in the end zone by "going to the ground to celebrate a touchdown or using the ball as a prop." The instant Johnson fell to his knees he violated the rule. After he did that, Johnson could have read scripture, done a silent prayer or helped an old lady across the street and it wouldn't have mattered. (And, incidentally, it looks a lot more like Johnson is asking the heavens to praise him, rather than the other way around.)

Wii Bowling Facepalm

by vipergtsrz at 09:08 AM Share your /facepalm story

During a police raid of a convicted Florida drug dealer, a team of undercover cops stopped doing a house search for drugs because they needed a Wii Sports break.

I'm not sure what's more surprising...The police actually spending 9 hours playing Wii Sports Bowling while they are supposed to be doing a drug bust or the fact that anyone can actually play Wii Sports Bowling for 9 hours. Seriously, 9 hours!? Don't you think that any police officer that is gone for 9 hours would raise suspicion let alone an entire team? "Where were we for the past 9 hours? Umm, we were...searching some guy's house for drugs. It's a big house..."

Did anyone check it first?

by vipergtsrz at 09:43 AM Share your /facepalm story

If you haven't heard of the 180 foot wide LED screen that was installed in the Dallas Cowboy's new stadium, you're probably not a fan of football or big TVs. While a lot of people have been excited about this massive LED TV, there was one thing that no one seemed to think about. How low should we put the TV in order for it to not interfere with a football game being played. The people installing it sure had time to do other fun things with it like play XBox 360 on it, but they never had a chance to actually bring an NFL punter in to test and see if it was high enough. The first game ever played at this new stadium showed that the screen was way too low.

Come on people. No one even thought to see if it was too low? /facepalm

See the punt here

Watch them playing XBox on it
