Our lucky lotto winner had sworn himself off ever buying a lotto ticket, but gave himself one last try before he kicked the habit. Mr. Urooj Khan bought a scratch card from his local convenience store and when he scratched away he found that he had one a lovely $1,000,000! He chose to cash in those winnings immediately, instead of the longer installment options.

On July 19th, 2012 he went in an retrieved his check for  $425,000 but he was dead before he could cash it in! He was over 50 so the state assumed he had died of natural causes, but after his family complained they investigated further and found that he had actually been poisoned by cyanide!

To this day no one knows who committed the crime but his estate did eventually cash in the money…
