According to Telegraph some schoolgirl decided she wanted to lose her virginity before the world ended by the Large Hadron Collider being turned on last September. I guess there were claims that when this thing was turned on, it would create a black hole big enough to swallow the earth. 

I'm not sure why a girl would think a the Large Hadron Collider being turned on would end the world. And I'm not sure why she wanted to lose her virginity before the end of the world happened. Heck, I'm not even sure how this story actually became news.

All I know is that there are a few /facepalms happening in this story.
